Youth News 12-16-17

Our Christmas Shopping Spree will be begin at 3:00pm this Saturday, 12-16. We will meet in the Mercedy Center, make our plan, and shop for our four kids.

Our annual Youth Christmas Party will be Sunday night at 6:30pm in the Mercedy Center. Pizza and snacks will be served. Bring a friend and join the fun. Our college kids will be on their mission trip, but any still remaining in town are more than welcome to join us.

We recently loaned out our recliner in the Youth Room to someone recovering from a major surgery. If anyone has a spare rocker/recliner that needs a good home, let me know. Thanks!!

*the song “Silver Bells” was almost “Tinkle Bells”

*the original lyrics for “Deck the Halls” are a little dirty
*”White Christmas” spent 11 weeks at #1 in 1942
(it was Bing Crosby’s 29th #1 song)
*Frosty the Snowman was a hit song long before it was a hit tv show
*A Charlie Brown Christmas was almost shelved because Linus recites from the Gospel of Luke
(the creators ended up winning an Emmy for the show)
Lots of Christmas activities this week at church!
