Call to Worship—Kevin & Zac
The Lord Needs It – A Call to Worship for Palm Sunday
“The Lord needs it and will send it back.”
Give up my horse, are you crazy! I don’t even know you!
“The Lord needs it and will send it back.”
Give up my cup of coffee in the morning to feed an orphan! Absurd!
“The Lord needs it and will send it back.”
Give up ten minutes of my 24 hours to pray! I spend my time like my money, any way I want.
“The Lord needs it and will send it back.”
You want my child, call him into ministry. But my daughter’s smart; surely she can do something better than be in the ministry.
“The Lord needs it and will send it back.”
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son…”
God gave us our resources. God gave us our time.
“The Lord needs it and will send it back.”
Today, we give!

Opening Hymn (can be found in the comments of this post)

Affirmation of Faith from Romans 8—Zac
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall tribulation or distress,
or persecution or famine,
or nakedness or peril or sword?
No!
In all things we are more than conquerors
through the One who loved us.
We are sure that neither
death nor life,
nor angels, nor pincipalities,
nor things present, nor things to come,
nor powers, nor height, nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the love of God
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Thanks be to God! Amen.

Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son:
and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be:
world without end. Amen.

Pastoral Prayer
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name;
thy kingdom come; thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power,and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Psalter—Zac, Luvada, & Hyunhee (Page 764)
In you, O Lord, I seek refuge;
do not let me ever be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me.
2 Incline your ear to me;
rescue me speedily.
Be a rock of refuge for me,
a strong fortress to save me.

3 You are indeed my rock and my fortress;
for your name’s sake lead me and guide me,
4 take me out of the net that is hidden for me,
for you are my refuge.
5 Into your hand I commit my spirit;
you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God.

6 You hate[a] those who pay regard to worthless idols,
but I trust in the Lord.
7 I will exult and rejoice in your steadfast love,
because you have seen my affliction;
you have taken heed of my adversities,
8 and have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy;
you have set my feet in a broad place.

9 Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am in distress;
my eye wastes away from grief,
my soul and body also.
10 For my life is spent with sorrow,
and my years with sighing;
my strength fails because of my misery,[b]
and my bones waste away.

11 I am the scorn of all my adversaries,
a horror[c] to my neighbors,
an object of dread to my acquaintances;
those who see me in the street flee from me.
12 I have passed out of mind like one who is dead;
I have become like a broken vessel.
13 For I hear the whispering of many—
terror all around!—
as they scheme together against me,
as they plot to take my life.

14 But I trust in you, O Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
15 My times are in your hand;
deliver me from the hand of my enemies and persecutors.
16 Let your face shine upon your servant;
save me in your steadfast love.
