Tornado Relief Fund

Contributions to the Mission Fund being used for aid to families affected by the tornado have provided much needed help here in our community. About three-fourths of the donations have come from the community and from other states. Forest Lake UMC is known for being a church that responds to the needs within the community every day of the year and a special fund was set up immediately after the April 27th, 2011 tornado to accept donations for relief.

These funds have been used to help families relocate into permanent housing, purchase immediate needs, and provide services called to our attention by all the service agencies, particularly the Zone 2 area of the Hope Initiative. We have adopted three families who needed literally everything to get started again. We will need both monetary donations and good household items to aid their healing process. Please make your checks payable to FLUM Missions for Disaster Relief Fund and know that your money will go directly to those most in need.
