Tornado Relief Fund at Work
As work teams stream into our city to help with the monumental task of repairing and rebuilding homes, the need for building and plumbing supplies, for furniture and appliances and household goods increases. Unfortunately, most of the funds have dwindled and people have lost their initial passion for getting families back into housing. Our funds at FLUM have helped 110 families move back home with both repair, rebuilding, and refurnishing the homes. As I watch the pace of restoring homes quickening with insurance claims and building restrictions being settled, I also see the generous donations slowing. This is the critical time for us to be in ministry with many homes being restored. The need is great, but the blessing of knowing you are continuing the gift of restored homes to displaced families will be even greater. Please remember the Tornado Relief Fund in your gifts to God’s work through Forest Lake United Methodist Church.
