It has been nearly a year, but the pace of repairing, restoring and rebuilding homes that were lost in last year’s tornado is in full swing now. Our own Marvin McKinley has been at work almost six days a week supervising work teams since the tornado. He has worked with Compassion Coalition and UMCOR and is now in the process of rebuilding houses approved through UMCOR. There is no way to properly thank this man for the total dedication to this enormous task. Though retired from the University, he has given this year as an invaluable resource in making sure the work done on restoring housing is done well. He has given his time without any need for recognition. Please let Marvin know how much we appreciate his selfless service to all those whose lives were devastated in the storm.
