For our Poverty Initiative, we are celebrating our ministries with those who are under resourced. Below are some of the ministries we will support this fall.

Our children are participating in three missions. They are collecting snacks through October for the children of University Place Elementary School for the school snack times. They are raising money for the college mission trip to Dominican Republic with Filter of Hope. They have a donor who is matching the first $100 raised. They are also collecting books for prisons. The number one book asked for by the inmates-a dictionary.

The college age group is hosting a mission trip to Dominican Republic over the Christmas holidays. They are working with Filter of Hope. The group will share God’s love with others and help people by providing water filters.

Our church works with First Community Church in their breakfast ministry. We are serving breakfast September 23rd and November 11th. Please see Sharon Standifer to reserve your spot to volunteer.

To understand and help our homeless population, we are participating in the community wide Homeless Connect sponsored by Love Inc, Saturday, September 23rd at Central High School from 8:00am-1:00pm. Volunteers meet at 7:00am at the school for training. We are also collecting: tooth paste, tooth brushes, deodorant, body wash, shampoo, socks, wash clothes, and underwear. We will deliver these items on September 16th to Love Inc.
