Our church has been a part of Meals on Wheels home delivery for years and years. This program provides a hot meal for lunch to the sick of Tuscaloosa. Forest Lake UMC is responsible for the first week of every month. Many of us deliver meals throughout the month. Frankie Burton is the coordinator of this ministry. If you would like to be join this ministry, please let the church office know.
United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is our global Methodist ministry providing support for people struck by natural disasters. On average UMCOR helps a new community every three days from some type of natural disaster. If you would like to make a donation to the flood victims in the Carolinas, please mark your check on the memo line “UMCOR”.
Monday Luncheon, October 15th, 11:30 am. The church will provide chicken fingers, bread, tea and water. Please bring a covered dish to share. We meet in the Fellowship Hall. The luncheon is open to all. If you are new to our church, this is a great way to meet people and sit and fellowship with others.
We are planning another trip to the Dominican Republic with Filters of Hope. This trip is open to ages 16 and up. We have booked 15 tickets for June 8-14, 2019. The trip cost around $1400. More information will follow.
Thank you to everyone who signed up to volunteer at University Place Elementary School and our own Weekday Kids. Places are still available to help.
