Helping The Homeless
A Church Wide Project
Sponsored by the United Methodist Women of Forest Lake
The members of the Forest Lake UMW are very excited about our up-coming project to “HELP THE
HOMELESS”. We want to involve our congregation and invite you to participate. Please collect items such as socks, scarves, gloves, toboggans and small throws. These items can be new or gently used. The items will be packaged with a card of hope and scripture verses. This is one way that FLUM can reach out to those in need and show them that through Christ we love and care about them. A large container will be placed in the Welcome Center area for the items donated. This church-wide on going project will continue for the fall and winter months as the weather will be cold, chilly, windy and rainy. Packages will be placed periodically in areas that can be easily accessible for the homeless. Start collecting and donating now and pray for God’s blessing on this mission outreach. Thank you!
Third Monday Luncheon is October 16th, at 11:30am. The University Elementary School Singers will be our guest. The church will provide chicken fingers and bread. Please bring a side dish to share.
Over Christmas we are going with Filter of Hope on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. More info can be found at www.filterofhope.org. The college students will sell T-shirts as a fundraiser. If you would like to donate money for a water filter, the cost is $40 per filter. Please put “Water Filter” in the memo line of your check.
