DON’T GIVE CASH
Many of you have experienced people in our parking lot or around the church who tell you a sad tale and say they need money for an emergency situation. Please help them and our church’s ability to truly help people, rather than just enabling them, by finding me or referring them to me in the office. They will find true help with the bills that need to be addressed with Christian concern. Giving cash simply encourages them to continue to take advantage of the goodness of Christian sentiments of people attending our church. It also encourages them to come back and “work the church” again. Let’s partner to do what is best for those who may need more than cash.

GREAT BOOK AVAILABLE
The Great I AMS of Jesus is a book written by our former pastor, Woodfin Grove. Written in devotional style, each chapter stands alone with a deep exploration of each of Jesus’ statements of I AM, His self portrait of who He was and what He brought to this world. Woodfin shares with us his understanding of: “the circumstances behind the words, the meaning to those who heard them, what they mean to me, and possible significance for us today.” I have used this book in teaching the Book of John this quarter and have found ideas and insights in this book that challenge and inspire me. I have several copies in my office that Woodfin signed shortly after the book was published. This is a valuable resource for anyone who is seeking a deeper experience of the Christ we celebrate this Easter season.
