Hello, y’all. I hope all is well! Don’t forget about Sunday, Wednesday, and now…. Monday nights! God really is moving!
I want to take a brief moment and talk about silence. When you pray, what do you hear? What do you feel? Anything? Anyone? Is it an audible voice? Is it a sense of peace? Is it a gut feeling? A dream? Or, is it silence?
Honestly, a lot of times, I feel like I get silence. As I lay there at night, in prayer, in silence, I wait. “God, give me something to go with! Anything! Talk to me! Show me a sign!” And I wait, in silence. “Hellooooo…. are you listening?” Silence… “God… you up there?” Silence…
Maybe it’s not as simple as an answer in an audible voice that tells us exactly what is going on. Maybe it is what we have the opportunity to learn in that silence. Maybe God is giving us a chance to figure it out. Maybe He is giving us a chance to be faithful and trust in Him. Maybe God wants us to follow Him using faith, rather than by just listening and waiting. We must be watchful, prayerful, and constantly in search for God’s will for our lives. Maybe God is using the Silence to teach us. I’m pretty sure there is a saying that goes something like this: “The teacher is always the quietest during the test.” If you are struggling or burdened and you seem to be getting silence, just remember that God is right there…waiting, and watching after you. You are loved.
